Module 3 Worksheet Questions: This worksheet has four questions.
- Question 1: Select one self-assessment from the options above. Record the results. Reflect on what they reveal about you. Write a paragraph of at least 150 words that accomplishes the following:
- Identify the name of the self-assessment you completed.
- Report the results/scores of the self-assessment.
- Evaluate how accurately you believe that these results/scores describe you.
- Conclude by presenting the greatest strengths you perceive from these results and/or–perhaps more importantly–the greatest opportunities for growth.
- Question 2: Select another self-assessment from the options above.
- Question 3: Select one lesson from the reading that you find especially interesting and that will make you a better colleague.
- Briefly describe that lesson and why it is important. Don’t forget to include the page citation like (Bauer and Erdogan, 143).
- Explain how you will apply that lesson to yourself in your current or future organization, and
- Explain how those efforts will make you a better and more effective colleague.
- Question 4: Select a different lesson from the reading that will make you a better leader.
- Briefly describe that lesson and why it is important. Don’t forget to include the page citation like (Bauer and Erdogan, 159).
- Explain how you will apply that lesson to yourself in your current or future organization, and

Introduction
Self assessment tools are widely used in organizational behavior to help individuals understand personality traits, motivation patterns, and areas for professional growth. These assessments provide insight into how individuals perceive themselves and how they may behave in workplace environments. Bauer and Erdogan (2020) emphasize that self awareness is a foundational skill for both effective teamwork and leadership development because it influences communication, decision making, and interpersonal relationships.
This reflection includes results from two self assessments, an analysis of their meaning, and an evaluation of personal strengths and development opportunities. It also connects key lessons from organizational behavior readings to practical applications in professional settings. The purpose is to improve self awareness and enhance both colleague effectiveness and leadership potential.
Question 1: Big Five Personality Self Assessment
The Big Five Personality Test was completed using the Openness, Conscientiousness, Extraversion, Agreeableness, and Neuroticism framework. The results showed high openness, moderate conscientiousness, moderate agreeableness, moderate extraversion, and low neuroticism. These results suggest a personality profile that is adaptable, curious, emotionally stable, and moderately structured in work habits.
I believe these results are generally accurate because they reflect my tendency to enjoy learning new concepts, adapt to new environments, and remain calm under pressure. The high openness score aligns with my preference for exploring new ideas and academic topics, while the lower neuroticism score reflects emotional stability in stressful situations. However, I also believe the assessment may slightly underestimate my conscientiousness because I can be more structured when working toward deadlines or academic goals.
The greatest strength from these results is emotional stability combined with adaptability, which supports resilience in challenging environments. The main area for growth is improving consistency in organization and task management to strengthen overall conscientiousness in professional settings.
Question 2: Self Esteem Self Assessment
The Self Esteem Test from Psychology Today was completed and produced a moderately high self esteem score, indicating a generally positive self perception with occasional fluctuations depending on context. This suggests a balanced but sometimes situational confidence level.
I believe the results are fairly accurate because I tend to feel confident in familiar tasks but may experience self doubt when facing unfamiliar or high pressure situations. This reflects a realistic self evaluation rather than extreme confidence or low self worth. The assessment highlights that my self esteem is stable but still influenced by external feedback and performance expectations.
The greatest strength from this result is the ability to maintain a healthy self concept and recover from setbacks. The main opportunity for growth is building more consistent internal confidence that is less dependent on external validation or situational outcomes.
Question 3: Lesson That Improves Colleague Effectiveness
One important lesson from organizational behavior is the value of emotional intelligence in workplace relationships. Emotional intelligence involves understanding and managing one’s own emotions while also recognizing and responding effectively to the emotions of others (Bauer and Erdogan, 2020, p. 143). This concept is important because it improves communication, reduces conflict, and enhances teamwork in organizational settings.
I can apply this lesson by practicing active listening, being more aware of nonverbal communication, and responding thoughtfully during workplace interactions. This includes managing emotional reactions during stressful situations and being more intentional in communication with colleagues. These efforts will make me a better colleague by improving collaboration, reducing misunderstandings, and strengthening professional relationships.
Question 4: Lesson That Improves Leadership Effectiveness
Another important lesson from the reading is the role of motivation theories in leadership effectiveness. Understanding what drives employee behavior allows leaders to create environments that improve performance and job satisfaction (Bauer and Erdogan, 2020, p. 159). This is important because effective leadership depends on the ability to influence and support employee engagement.
I will apply this lesson by recognizing individual differences in motivation and adapting leadership approaches accordingly. This includes setting clear goals, providing feedback, and creating supportive environments that encourage growth and accountability. These actions will make me a more effective leader by improving team motivation, increasing productivity, and fostering a positive organizational culture.
