4. After reading the article published by the New York Times titled: “Gov. Lamm Asserts Elderly, If Very Ill, Have A Duty to Die”, you will discover that the article addresses prolonging older populations life by artificial means and how this support is affecting economic shifts.

The premise of the article is that technological immortality, such as tubes, drugs and pacemakers are extending the life of people that may not be living quality lives, and as our textbook states: “The old-old with major health problems are putting major strains on family resources” (Zastrow, et.al. (p. 708).
