Students will write a 5-7 page research paper on some aspect of historiography. Students are expected to choose a unique subject – person, event, etc. – as the subject of their paper. Your paper should use 4-6 secondary sources and should reflect the themes that we’ve discussed in class all semester. For example, depending upon your topic, you may wish to discuss the evolution of the history of labor history (E.P. Thompson) as it relates to notions of the “working class” of either the U.S. or Britain. Or, has your topic been studied through the lens of gender, microhistory, historical memory, etc.? •Do the sources agree with another or disagree?
