Teaching in schools today, especially urban schools, means teaching and interacting with culturally, linguistically, academically, and generationally diverse students. With diversity in the classroom comes a need for teachers to monitor and adjust their practices daily and accommodate students with their learning. This is not an easy task. In this course, students are expected to find an event or classroom that clearly represents diversity in every sense of the word and attend said event or class. After attending said event or class, students will write an essay of where they capture images of diversity represented during the event or class they attended. Write about what they mean, the story behind them, and how they relate to education and the overall classroom environment. Students are encouraged to be as creative as possible.
