Write a 1500-word paper on the module topic and its treatment. (ONLY the text of the body of the paper will be counted.)
The paper should discuss manual treatment modalities and give insight into the current literature in regards to manipulation and the module topic
Articles chosen should follow the guidelines outlined in the Manual Medicine Literature Review module.
Search the peer-reviewed medical literature for clinical research supporting the use of manual medicine in the care of the topic covered in the appropriate module. Research articles may include case reports, case series, retrospective or prospective clinical studies, systematic reviews, and meta-analyses.
Do not copy and paste from the article content or abstracts – read the references, digest the material, and compose a well-thought-out paper.
Identify the type of study for any articles found in your literature review(i.e., meta-analysis, clinical trial/randomized controlled trial, case-study, etc.).
Discuss the type of statistical analysis found in your literature review, if any, and what were the exact results of that analysis (i.e., p-value on statistical significance, r-value for correlation, f-value for ANOVA, etc.). You may reference the Common Statistical Tests Download Common Statistical Tests found in the OMM Diagnosis and Treatment Review Resources.

Use at least three research articles as references.
The publication date of the literature must be 1990 or more recent.
All articles must be cited according to the AMA citation guidelines.
Acceptable manual medicine disciplines include osteopathic manipulative medicine, osteopathic manual therapy, chiropractic, massage, physiotherapy, and physical therapy.
Please note citations of literature summaries, such as Cochrane Reviews, EMedicine, Medscape, and Up-to-Date are NOT acceptable for this assignment. The articles for the module manual medicine reading assignments are not acceptable. Only citations of the original peer-reviewed research articles will be accepted.
