Throughout the semester, we’ve been studying the importance of human connection. Now, it’stime to put what we’ve learned into action. For this assignment, you will be creating a project (oran overview of a project) relating to human connection and designing a way to share yourproject with a selected audience. For example, you might write up a series of tweets to shareinformation about how we can build authentic connection through social media. Or you mightcreate an Instagram page focused on the importance of sharing moments of collective joy withcollege students. Or maybe you’ll plan an event (virtual, pandemic-safe, or hypothetical) to helpa specific group of people build connections, like the Space Gatherings created by Serena Bianin Chapter 6 of Together or the “Drop By Dinner” created by Mia Birdsong in Chapter 7 of HowWe Show Up. Then, you will do some research to learn more information about your topic, andmaybe your audience. Next, you will share your human connection project in an essay in whichyou introduce your audience, summarize your research findings, share your project, andanalyze your creationSee below for a more detailed breakdown of the steps:Step 1: Develop an idea for your project (including topic, audience, and medium)For Essay 4, you will be creating a project (or an overview of a project) related to theimportance of human connection. This project should be inspired by an idea we readabout this semester (see the list of topic ideas in Activity 4.2) and it should be for aspecific audience through a specific medium (see examples above).Step 2: Conduct your researchFor this step, you will conduct research to help you learn more about your project. Let’suse the sample project described above of an Instagram page focused on theimportance of sharing moments of collective joy with college students as a sample. Here are some ideas for research for the sample project:● The topic you’re focusing on: Why is collective joy an important part of humanconnection?● The medium: Why might Instagram be a good way to share this topic with youraudience?● The audience: Why do college students need to know more about collective joy?Remember, you’ll need to use one text that we’ve used this semester plus threeadditional reliable outside sources. You should share audience-appropriate informationfrom all 4 sources in your essay.Step 3: Write Your Essay (6-8 pages – minimum 6)In this essay, you should include the following parts (not necessarily in this order) Youcan incorporate ideas found in your research in any of the parts of your essay:● An introduction to your audience – Tell your readers about your audience: whoare they, what’s important to them, and why do you think they need to know moreabout the importance of human connection?● A discussion of your specific topic and how it relates to the importance of humanconnection – How is this specific topic an important element of humanconnection?● Describe your project – What is your project? Remember, you don’t actually haveto create it, but you do need to describe it.● An analysis of your project – Share why you decided to share this topic with youraudience. That is, why is this information important for them to know?Additionally, you should discuss why you chose this project as a way to share thisinformation with your selected audience. Why is your project the best way toshare this information with your selected audience?
