Discuss how words and speeches can be used to motivate and influence how the public should/will act. Discuss how certain rhetorical appeals such as narrative, style, argumentation, arrangement, and delivery can be used to motivate or persuade an audience. Additionally, while I will be using definitions and concepts from the first 3 chapters in the book I will also be focusing on many of the political speeches we watched this semester. Obama’s speech and JFK’s speech are great places to start since political speeches are meant to motivate and are often used as a call to action for the general public.
